Terms and conditions

ActivityHome nursing — a mobile service, with no premises open to the public.
Contact+351 928 290 815 · venaportugal26@gmail.com

2. What the service is

Venaportugal administers intravenous drips at the place agreed with the client, through nurses registered with the Portuguese Nursing Board. The service includes the prior assessment, all materials, the administration and supervision throughout the session.

This is not an emergency service and does not replace medical assessment, diagnosis or treatment. In an emergency, call 112 (the European 911) or go to the hospital.

3. Who may book

The service is for people aged 18 to 65, able to give consent. Every person receiving a drip completes their own health form and signs their own consent, even where the booking is made by someone else.

4. How booking works

5. Right to decline on safety grounds

Venaportugal may decline or stop a session, before or during, whenever it considers there is a risk to the client's health — even where the booking is confirmed and paid. In that case the full amount paid is refunded. This is a clinical decision.

6. Client obligations

7. Prices

8. Payment

At the end of the request you choose between paying for the session in full, booking with a deposit and paying the balance on the day of the session, or talking to us first and agreeing payment then. Anything paid in advance goes by bank transfer, using the reference given at the end of the request. On the day of the session we take cash or a bank transfer. We do not carry a card reader. The booking is complete once the amount due at that point has been paid. A receipt is issued for every session.

9. Liability

Venaportugal is liable for damage resulting from defective performance of the service under general law, and holds professional liability insurance. It is not liable for consequences arising from false, incomplete or withheld information in the health form, nor from failure to follow the instructions given to the client after the session.

10. Right of withdrawal

As a distance contract, the client has 14 days to withdraw without giving a reason, under Decree-Law 24/2014. Where the client expressly requests that the service begin before that period ends and the service is fully performed, the right of withdrawal ends with performance.

11. Governing law

Portuguese law applies.

Privacy and data

Each client's form contains health data, which the law treats as a special category. It is not shared with third parties and never used for marketing.

Cancellations and refunds

Cancellation by the client

Cancellation by Venaportugal

The full amount paid is refunded, or the session is rescheduled, at the client's choice. The same applies to a delay that makes the session unviable.

Declined on safety grounds

Where, after assessment, the session is found not to be safe, it does not take place and the full amount paid is refunded, with no penalty to the client.

Refunds

Processed by the same payment method, within 14 days of the cancellation being communicated.

Informed consent

This is the text accepted and signed when a request is sent. It is available here before and after the session.

What will be done

A cannula is placed in a peripheral vein and a solution containing vitamins, minerals and/or electrolytes is administered — and, where applicable and prescribed by a doctor, an anti-nausea medication and/or an anti-inflammatory with gastric protection. It is given by a nurse registered with the Portuguese Nursing Board, who identifies themselves and shows their registration card before starting, over approximately 30 to 60 minutes.

Purpose

Hydration and replenishment of vitamins and minerals. This is not medical treatment and does not replace consultation, diagnosis or therapy prescribed by a doctor.

Possible risks

Pain, bruising or inflammation at the puncture site; dizziness; a metallic taste; nausea; fluid overload; and, rarely, infection or an allergic reaction, which may be severe. With drips containing an anti-inflammatory: stomach irritation or bleeding, worsening kidney function, and reactions in people with asthma or an allergy to anti-inflammatories. With drips containing an anti-nausea medication: headache, constipation and, rarely, changes in heart rhythm.

Alternatives

Instead of this session, the client may drink fluids and oral rehydration salts, take medication by mouth, or seek medical assessment or an emergency service. These alternatives are explained and the client may choose them at any time.

After the session

The client stays under observation for at least 15 minutes after the infusion ends — 30 minutes if the drip contains medication — and is told who to contact if they feel unwell after the nurse leaves. In case of serious signs, they should call 112 first.

Contraindications

The session may be declined — before or during — where there is a risk to the client's safety, in particular with kidney or heart disease, clotting disorders, pregnancy or breastfeeding, active infection, or allergy to any component.

Information provided by the client

The client undertakes to give truthful information about allergies, medication, illness and pregnancy. Withholding information may put their health at risk.

Right to refuse

The client may refuse or stop the session at any time, without giving a reason and without penalty.

Personal data

Data, including health data, is collected and kept confidentially under the GDPR, solely to deliver the service safely. See Privacy and data.

Complaints

Complaints may be submitted through the Portuguese Electronic Complaints Book, which has the same legal standing as the paper book.
